Hey guys, monsoon has already set in India and we all know how hard it gets to manage tresses with the humid climate. While there are lavish hair spa’s out there, I’d like to take care of my hair without drilling a hole in my pocket. As a d.i.y lover, I love pampering myself with some homemade hair masks. This way I know what I’m feeding my hair and can stop being paranoid about all the chemical treatments damaging my hair.
1. Avocado Miracle Mask
who doesn’t love avocado? A rich source of proteins, amino acids and vitamins, avocado helps soothe the scalp and promotes long, strong, healthy hair growth. For this D.I.Y mask, you’ll need
* one ripe avocado.
*oil of your choice(i prefer almond oil).
Mix and mash all the ingredients and apply the mask covering every strand. Leave it on for 30 minutes and wash off with regular shampoo and conditioner. The Sulphur in egg yolk stimulates the scalp and increases hair growth while oil nourishes it leaving it shiny and frizz free 🙂
2. Yogurt+Lemon Mask
Natural yogurt is full of protein, it offers nourishment that our hair needs to grow strong and healthy. it has lactic acids, which is great for cleansing the scalp and clearing away dead skin cells to help your hair follicles grow. Lemon fights dandruff like it’s no one’s business. This mixture is perfect for getting rid of that pesky dandruff and nourishing the follicles. Mix 4 spoons of yogurt with few drops of lemon and apply the mask covering your hair and let it sit for 30 mins. Rinse with regular shampoo and conditioner.
One of the best part being an Indian is finding ingredients for D.I.Y masks in your kitchen at any time of the day 🙂 This simple mask requires you to soak a handful of fenugreek seeds in water overnight. Grind it into a thick paste-like consistency the next day and apply the mask covering scalp and the lengths of your hair.Leave it on for 30 minutes and rinse. This leaves your hair shiny, frizz free and works better than any serum out in the market! I’ve literally got so many compliments every time I’ve used this mask. dull hair is no longer an issue 🙂
Do try these masks and let me know what you think 🙂
